best new sign of overpopulation
Last night I went into a McDonald’s to set up some cameras for Mod My Life and there was a bouncer at the entrance to the second floor dining area.  Only those with food were allowed through.  It was a mad house.

Where should you give your money to charity? →
This site offers many interesting tips.  Here are their recommendations for how to save lives.  Their first pick, Population Services International, distributes condoms and insecticide-soaked bednets.  Here is a New York Times article about their operation. The pointer is from Michael Vassar, a regular MR commentator.

Great discussion of a great conference I went to last week—Reputation Economies in Cyberspace at Yale Law.   Been doing a lot of thinking about reputation and trust building online, and it has been fundamentally altering how I think about my thesis, among other things.

Misunderstanding Copyright Law And Ruining... →

Control Someone’s Behavior for an Hour with Mod My... →
This has to be the most amusing website I’ve come across for quite sometime. Mod My Life is a twist on the lifecasting idea pioneered by JustinTV. Whereas with JustinTV you can eavesdrop into the lives of dozens of people, and chat with them if you like as well, Mod My Life lets you to watch people’s lives for hour-long segments at a time and command them to do things. The word “lives” should...

According to researchers, connecting one method “to multiple goals weakens the mental association between that means and any one goal.” In their study,...

bagel bits
Isn’t it awesome when you ate a bagel a few hours ago, but a little piece of say sesame stays stuck in your teeth and falls out when you least expect it, filling your mouth with the taste of the bagel again?  For some reason that makes me really nostalgic.
